Delphi Informant published its last issue
I stopped subscribing to Delphi Informant a while ago. I even stopped going to the web site as everything was subscriber only. It is sad to see it go but I wont actually miss it as I never used it.
It had good articles but the price never matched my budget. Hence I spent it elsewhere and used google to get answers. I wonder what they will do with the content. Maybe http://www.delphiguru.com/?
BorCon 2004 tickets on EBay!
BorCon 2004 tickets on EBay! as noted by Anders. Current price is about $750. If you can;t afford that then just get the hat.Indy Knowledge Base
I just came accross the Indy Knowledge Base. it was very helpful with an issue I was having with RSS2Email.
Delphi kicks C# butt.
Delphi seems to be gaining in popularity over C#. not surprising seeing as Delphi is a much better tool. It is nice to see it written down and backed up by some facts.
I have invested a lot of time in Delphi, information likes this makes me think I have a lot of Delphi time left. [from Scoble]
Diamond Back
Setting a few Delphi 9 (aka Diamond back) rumors straight. I hope there is something great in there, but at the moment I do not knwo what I need.
I guess .Net would be cool but I do not want to release any .Net apps yet until I'm sure 90% of people have it. I have only just started to use Windows Installer and already I am having seconds thoughts about that.
Give in on Delphi?
Declaration of Delphi Dependence is an interesting read, I make my living with Borland tools. Delphi and Star Team mainly (I love Star Team).
I see the problem not with Borland but with the development tools market. The tools I have now (Delphi 6/7) are just great. I have no list of features I would like to see. There is nothing I cannot do.
Sure .Net will be the way forward but I am in no rush. I'll make the jump when it makes economic sense. When it does I hope a Borland tool will be there for me. In the mean time I hope someone is pushing the envelope forward to make better tools.
Commercial Delphi Apps
It is always nice to see commercial apps written in Delphi. It is even better when they win Awards.
